Merlin 2.11--The Witch's Quickening

ARrrgh why is everyone on this show so DUMB? Here's the basic problem that the magic users are dealing with: Camelot has outlawed magic. But there's a pretty good reason--there's no regulation at all of magic, or magic users, and so non-magical folk are always vulnerable and often under attack by magic. Seriously, every single week Camelot is threatened by some sort of of magic, so I'm not sure why Morgana and the druids are always like "oh noes why ever would Uther be so mean about magic?" I dunno, maybe because people use it to *try to kill him weekly*?
Even when she was sure she was going mad, Gaius and Merlin refused to tell her the true reason for her dreams, for fear of exposing Merlin's secret. Instead, Merlin turns to the only people who he thinks understand him--including a murderous Bastet. Obviously safer than just *telling Morgana* that he has magic. He's seen her protect Mordred, he knows for a fact that she would protect him against the king and keep his secret, yet for some reason he never tells her that he has magic too. And while Merlin is running around covering up his girlfriend's murders, Morgana eventually figures out that she's magic, not mad, and turns to the only people who seem to understand her--the druids. Perfectly understandable. And now she's declared herself an enemy of Camelot, and Merlin is too chickenshit to either A)kill Mordred, B)join Mordred, or even C)tell Arthur or Gwen, at the very least, about Morgana's treachery. How many times does Morgana have to betray Uther before Merlin will finally realize that he can't keep this a secret? And why, knowing that Morgana will do anything to protect the druids, doesn't Merlin put any sort of watch on Morgana? And meanwhile, Morgana, why are you running around shouting at Uther? If you want to help the druids, try to convince Uther that there's another way to deal with them, OR just poison him. This middle-road, where she tells him her loyalties and then sticks around in Camelot, is stupid.
Whatever. I just hope hot stabby druid chick survived.
