Oh yeah, they absolutely could not do it in a single ep. But they've been dragging their feet all season (so many motw shows! holy crap, it is the apocalypse, we do not have time for silly little ghost hunts!), and they've got a whole nother season coming up, so really, it's not like they ran out of time. The writers just didn't think about it. They are so lazy!
